Chinese New Year 2021

Chinese New Year 2021 celebrations (the year of the OX ) -- begin on February 12th and culminating on February 26th February with the Lantern Festival.

Tied to the Chinese lunar calender, it is traditionally a time to pay respect to heavenly Deities including ancestors, whilst bringing family and friends together.It has been a long tradition for family and friends to return home from work or studies to celebrate together whilst enjoying special home cooked specialities.

Lion and Dragon celebratory dances are performed with Lantern shows lighting up the streets at night.Street markets are filled with people buying flowers and decorations for good luck in the New Year.
